Brailes Fabulous was the top selling 12,000gns bull and Junior Champion at the 2019 Stirling October bull sales. From the moment we saw him entering the show ring we knew that he was the bull that we were needing to take our herd forward. There are not many bulls with his exceptional depth of pedigree, natural thickness, fleshing and breed characteristics, he really is a bull for breeders.
Fabulous' dam Gretnahouse Fleur was 1st prize at the AA national show in 2018 at Westmorland and also 1st prize at Perth Show. Fabulous himself also picked up the calf championship at Perth show. Fleur is sired by the 18,000gns high seller Haymount Precursor who was greatly admired for his exceptional head and angus style.
This female line is one for serious breeders, stemming all the way back to the famous Cee Bar Favourite. Fleurs grand dam, Netherton Fleur G413 won 3 supreme championships in 2010 and the cow and calf championship at the AA Winter national before selling for 25,000 in a private deal.
What makes this breeding even more special is that Netherton Fleur G413s dam Fleur D334 won the senior cow and calf class at the Royal Highland show and then went on to take cow champion, overall female champion and overall supreme champion.
Fabulous' sire Gretnahouse Blacksmith has bred some truly exceptional cattle including the 15,000gns Gretnahouse Exocet to Schivas and the 13,000gns Gretnahouse Black Ballboy to Glympton. Blacksmith himself was champion on both his show outings as a younger bull picking up yearling champion at the AA winter national and breed champion at Dumfries in 2012. A half share of Blacksmith was sold to Haymount for a significant five figure sum.
